Hi,

Every time I start my computer (windows vista) I get this prompt...

Bluetooth Software license file not found. [2]

....I go OK or hit X and it goes away, but it bugs me.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks Mike

What Bluetooth device(s) do you have in use? Try deleting and re-installing
its (their) software. Preferable, get the latest from the manufacturer.

You apparently have some Bluetooth software loading with Windows that has a
problem. See below for how to manage your Startup to prevent the program
starting with Windows. To solve the general problem with the program,
identify it so you can research the error message at the program mftr.'s
website.

It is always better to stop programs from starting with Windows from within
the programs themselves, so look in their Options before changing anything
with msconfig - you're just examining things at this stage. If a program
doesn't offer any way to control startup from its Preferences, then use
msconfig to uncheck the box next to its name, Apply and OK out.

Start Orb>Search box>type: msconfig and when it appears in the Results box
above, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator".

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation,
type the password, or click Continue. Then see what is on the Startup tab.
You don't need to restart immediately, but the next time you do you'll get
a dialog saying you've used the Utility. Usually in Vista this will be
blocked by Windows Defender and you'll need to allow it so you can then
tick the box that says in effect, "don't bother me about this again".

Important - Do not use the System Configuration Utility to stop processes.
Instead, use Services.

Start Orb>Search box>type: services and when it appears in the Results box
above, right-click and choose "Run As Administrator". Confirm elevation as
needed.

The free Autoruns program is very useful for managing your Startup -

Well that certainly fixed the problem, superficially at least. I feel like
an idiot, I should have thought of that straight off. Anyway, I will have a
look at the manufacturer's website as you suggested and downloaded the
Autoruns program. Thanks for your help, Malke. Much appreciated.
