Im trying to change my details on the windows live account page, I can sign
in and look at the settings, but when I try to change the 'registered
settings' it comes up with the following error...

----------
We're unable to retrieve information for this section at this time. We're
sorry for the inconvenience, please try again later.
----------

I've been trying for a few weeks now, same error.

I tried changing my settings on a hotmail account and it worked.

This account is a personal domain email address, signed up for use with a
passport.

Maybe this kind of account makes a difference.

Thanks.

Greetings Tom,

Sounds like there is something specific in your account that's breaking this. You might want
to contact Live ID/Passport Services so it can be escalated (and hopefully fixed):

(scroll down page for form)

I had the same problem and contacted the Live ID support.

It seems you can update your personal information for Windows Live
accounts (http://login.live.com/) AND Windows Live ID accounts
(https://accountservices.msn.com).

When I logged in the second I was instantly asked my year of birth and
location, and this solved all issues with editing my registered settings

hope this helps.

Jorge

Hi Jorge,

Looks like a bug then, appreciate the workaround.
