Live & Hotmail Don't Synchronize

Hello,

When I add an email address to my Live (desktop) contacts list it doesn't
appear to synchronize (and get added automatically) to the contacts list in
Hotmail (on the web.) when I sign in to to. Am I missing something here?

Do you have Windows Live Mail set to log in with the same Windows Live ID
you are using for your Hotmail (on-the-web) contacts? Without signing in,
Windows Live Mail does not contact the Windows Live servers to synchronize
any online contacts.

There are several reasons that this happened.... Were you signed in with
your Live ID when you opened the WLM desktop app? Did you "Ctrl-F5" the WLM
desktop app after you updated your Contacts/and before you logged into the
the web version of Hotmail? Were you already on the web when you synced the
desktop app (if so, logout/login).

Describe your process to update your Contact...

In addition to the other's input...your version of WLM is not the most current 14.x version.
- fyi Contacts.msi (an integral component) in WLM's contact management was updated. The last version was released on May 12, 2010. Your version predates that release.

WLM can have 2 or more sets of Contacts. There are contacts for when you
don't sign in to Live services and contacts for each Live ID used to sign in
to Live services.
To add a contact, you must be signed in, add the contact, and sync the
contacts.
Note: you can sign in, work offline and still be using the signed in
contacts.
