I am seeing a lot of problems here with certain aspects of Live 2011. Is it
possible to just download maybe messenger 2011 and leave live mail as 2009?
I use messenger quite a bit for video chat with family and was curious.

Or is it possible to uninstall this update? My system ran it's auto updates, now I have a mail reader that looks like
MS Word and can handle replies!

If not, does anyone know how I can turn of this auto complete, this not adding > for content I'm replying to
and to get rid of some of this toolbar crap (like why would I need a word count in a news post?)
Unless they were around McGill
where the roads are pretty wide and the traffic pretty tame.

No,
Mix and match of two versions is not supported.

The ability to auto insert a '>' in front of previous responders text was
removed from the product.

The items on each Ribbon tab are not removable. The Ribbon can be mimized,
and almost any item any ribbon tab can be added(icon only) to a Quick
Access Toolbar.

Why would they do that?

See how stupid it is?

If you're on Vista, you can uninstall live mail 2011, keep messenger 2011
and use Windows Mail.

It seems that Microsoft is intent on killing off the usability of NNTP in favor of web-based forums.

MS is going to kill off using their product to access NNTP. I'll install something else.
And of course, once people get used to other suppliers mail products, they'll start investigating
their other products...

Its not nntp only..its also applies to Mail.

Why....it wasn't working during the beta test..rather than fix it, the code
was bypassed/removed to prevent complaints of it not working..thus a
response to anyone complaining about the lack of that feature falls into
the 'design intent' category....i.e..wysiwyg.
