Hello,
any plans, plugins or whatever for this stupid Hotmail Checker inside
the Messenger ?

Its ok that i get a popup window about new Mails, but without any kind
of information (FROM,subject )this option is completly useless for me.

I have no time to open always the Hotmail-Inbox via my webbrowser to
find only SPAM or unimportant eMails.

Peter

You might want to adjust your junk mail filtering then in hotmail. I
only get a mail notification if someone in my allowed contacts emails
me. Sure I have to check occasionally in the junk emails to see if any
got in there I wanted. However the MSN notification then isn't a problem.
Though I agree it would be nice if it told you who it was from, but most
basic email notifiers I have seen only say new mail, not who its from, etc.

Hi,

I think what he wants is more like what Outlook gives you.

I only need some any kind of information, "You have a new Mail" is
useless...
(For example, Google RSS-News from my account show me: From, From
EMail, title, and short Subject)

@Jonathan Kay, this dont help for unimportant Mails.
For example, i set the notifications from a forum to this account, this
mails are not realy spam, only unimportant.

And this kind of information are somewhere available on the "system",
because i can see it on www.live.com .

Hi,

Well the problem is not getting the information, it's changing the protocol and everything to
match.

In case you're unaware, Messenger was originally "Hotmail Messenger" and it's primary feature
was to notify people of new e-mail (somewhat like how Google placed GTalk when it was
released); instant messaging was just it's secondary function. The feature to notify people
of new e-mails has essentially gone unchanged through the years.

I think you are mistaken...

Both MS and Google knew very well that they wanted chat capabilty... because
everyone else had it!
Its no by-product of email notification.
