Live Messenger 2009 stops responding regularly

build 14.0.8050.120
running on Vista Home 64 bit
Using Logitech 5000

Every time I first attempt to send an instant message, it freezes fo
perhaps 30 secs to 1 min and says not responding. Then works ok mostl
but with random 'not responding' messages

Few other things like winks dont seem to work and whiteboard gone bu
thats not too big a deal.
Any ideas to help on the not responding problem
