Live messenger 8.1 Communication problems and other issues

After I upgraded to latest 8.1 my computer inside the LAN ceased to connect
to the messenger service.

I did a through search through articles and forums and none seemed to work.
It keeps trying to connect, and if i troubleshoot it and repair it it shows
all options ok, what's strange is the fact if I open options/connections and
test the connection it appears to be ok, as the computer connects fine, but
whenever i try to sign in then i receive the 000306 error and got stuck in
there.

This computer is connected to Internet using ICS, and is connected to the
gateway, in fact there are only two computers(one is the gateway and the
other is connected to it using a twisted pair) and no routers or gateway
devices are in between just the LAN cards, I have a static IP and internally
it's using ICS and DHCP, I tried everything flushing DNS, checking the ports,
and pinging both computers, succesfully, but live messenger and IE don't
work, nor does any connection attempt to signin.live.com ... it seems to
connect but it just keeps waiting for ever ... Using Firefox other websites
work normally so I ruled out a cabling problem ...

I used to have a firewall and I thought that might br the culprit, but i
uninstalled it completely even erase it from the registry, just to be sure no
ports where blocked in the gateway preventing the connection.

I also uninstalled an anonymous proxy and anything else that might be
interfering, and turned on and then off Windows Firewall after tweaking it
and added messenger to the exceptions one more time ...

None of these worked, btw I'm running XP PRO SP2 on both computers,

Make sure the Date and Time on all equipment is correct and matches each
others as well as Internet Time for your Time Zone. Make sure the Date is
correct. Then uninstall and reinstall Windows Live Messenger.
