Live Messenger abssm.dll crash at login

Hi there, I'm having a problem logging onto Live Messenger using my laptop
(the Home PC works fine)

It attemps to log in but crashes shortly afterwards, it seems similar to
some problems already mentioned, but they aren't very detailed.

Modname: abssm.dll is the culprit by the looks of things.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, not manually I might add, as it
looked like everything was removed from the reg.

Stuff like zone alarm I've shut down, I've updated Java, disk checked, tried
to replace the abssm.dll from one PC to the laptop, all to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I've recently been having what sounds like the same problem: My computer
is up to date, Latest version of WLM, Try to sign in, and it freezes. If you
try to close it, you're told it's not responding, and it closes, But then if
you go into task manager it's still there, and no matter what you do It still
won't die, (My account is admin on computer)
