Live Messenger added 220 contacts - how to bulk delete them?

I had about five contacts in MSN Messenger. When I upgraded to Live
Messenger, the system added about 220 contacts. I don't want to see all
those contacts, but I can only seem to delete one at a time. Is there any
way I can delete all the unwanted contacts at the same time? I am running
Version 8, build 8.0.0792.00. Thanks.

those are not contacts, but address book entries. You can log into hotmail
and delete them.

You can also click on the green up and down arrows just above your contacts
list and un-select Show All Contacts. Then only your Messenger ones will
show. The others are all in your Hotmail address book.
