Has anybody siuccesfully managed to talk to a Yahoo user using Live messenger?
I have Live messenger vs 8.0.0812.00, and Yahoo vs 8.0.0.1 and i have
tried with my own accounts - I cannot get them to recognise or talk to each
other.

Does it REALLY work outside of the Microsoft lab?

Yeah, I have a few Yahoo contacts on my list. You must make sure that
you have signed up for the beta on both sides, Live Messenger
(http://ideas.live.com/programpage.as...c-685ee3e858fe),
and on the Yahoo site
(http://messenger.yahoo.com/partners_...8qMo7z9zdwMMIF)

Yes, 'talked' to a friend of mine for about 2 hours last night. And to
really show it works, he's using a MAC. No Yahoo anything on my PCs, no
Messenger on his iBook!

Hi

Yes, I could do that, and its quite straightforward actually.

As Scot mentions above, both the Live Messenger ID and the Yahoo ID need to
sign up for this Beta service at their respective ends and the latest
respective Messenger Software needs to be installed.

Works great!

Thanks.

yes, it works...but with limited functionallity e.g. files can't be
transferred and video isnt working either...

you need to sing-up for this in ideas.live.com and be provisioned first...
