I have windows vista home premium service pack 2 on a HP pavilion dv6000
laptop. i have the latest windows live messenger (2009) installed. It
disconnects every 2 or 3 minutes and reconnects automatically. Running
another box with XP and the same live messenger version on my same network
works OK. I have tried everything and i keep disconnecting. Please what can I
do????

I'm having the same issue with Windows 7. And I think I had it on XP as well
on the current laptop. (But that may also have been the internet connection
itself)

I'm really going crazy over this!

I've added this to another post:
"I've run some new tests...
Logged into MSN and on the same machine logged into web messenger. Also
logged into web messenger on another computer.

At the moment MSN is reconnecting the web messenger on the laptop returns a
message:"One of the other places you signed in to Mesenger has signed you out
of this location"
"
Now I also have had it on the other computer where I was logged in through
web messenger.
Perhaps you can try this as well.

Currently I'm performing a test being on Live Messenger on two machines and
web messenger on another.

Greetings Fernando,

You may want to try turning off Vista's auto tuning networking feature. To turn off this
feature, open up an elevated command prompt and type the following:
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

If you're unsure what I mean by an "elevated command prompt", this explains it:

Jonathan Kay [MVP]

in the link you provided:
http://www.kombitz.com/2007/02/14/vi...ommand-prompt/ I
followed the instructions, but in step 4 do you mean to actuall type: "netsh
interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled" in the DOS box?, I did and
got a large response saying that this was not a good command. Would you
please be good enough to explain the exact procedure. Tks in advance.
