Live Messenger download stops at 99%

Hi Everyone, it is so nice to belong to this forum, thank you. I tried
to install windows live messenger and windows hotmail onto my friends
pc. She has Vista home premium 32 bit with a dial-up connection. First I
got her a Windows Live ID account and that went through just fine. Then
I proceded to download Hotmail and live messenger. The windows `sign in
assistant`downloaded and installed just fine but the other two sit at
99% and will not go any further. Can anyone tell me what I should do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're not the first to see this problem. Instead, download and run the Microsoft Installer
file directly (it's the same thing the setup downloads and executes for you):

I spent six hours on my friends pc when I downloaded windows liv
messenger because I recieved an error message everytime I tried to lo
on but I finally figured out how to fix it and got in up and runnin
perfectly. I want to thank you for all your help. hagd
