Live Messenger - Error 2753

I have been trying to update Live Messenger. The "Sign In Assistant" will
not install. I get error message 2753. I have tried several times.
Installed MSInstaller 4.5. Still doesn't work. What do I need to do?

It's not a required component to use Messenger, and as such, you can just install it directly
from here:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/wlm85.asp
to avoid this problem.
