Live Messenger freezes at login

A friend of mine has the same problem that other users here have experienced
with Live Messenger freezing up at login.

I told her to try the following:

* Reinstallation of Live Messenger
* Installing Macromedia Player
* Installing Windows Messenger 5.1
* Using a cleanup utility I found that let's you delete old contact
information

And still is freezing up and not working, any ideas?
