Live Messenger hangs after installing IE7

I just installed the newly released IE7. Now, on starting Live Messenger or
after a reboot, it hangs (stops responding - needs to be terminated). Is
there a workaround for this?

I met the same problem. Guess the IE7 developers never talk with Live
Messenger.

Hi William,

I reinstalled Live Messenger. Then I made sure to save my IE7 settings on
the first time it starts up - I think this is where the problem happens. It
looks like Live Messenger depends on IE in some way, so if you upgrade IE to
IE7 then it hangs until that initial IE7 screen has been viewed and your
settings have been saved.
I think that's all it was since I didn't change anything else - except for
LM itself.
