Live messenger installation problem

I have downloaded Windows Live Messenger 8.0 but it comes up with "The
application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)"

Can anyone help me with this problem as i cannot use any messenger. Even
when trying to upgrade from Messenger 7.5 it still does not work.

Please help...

Do you have any Sony software products installed like Sonicstage? Go check Add or Remove
Programs in the Control Panel to confirm as other things may have installed it.

If this is the case, uninstalling Sonicstage will solve your issue. I haven't heard of this
issue in awhile till this forced upgrade, so I assume Sony has updated their software to be
compatible so installing the latest bits from Sony will probably allow you to maintain using
their software.

Hi,

I have managed to install Windows Live Messenger 8.0 only to find i need to
upgrade. However when i try to do this i am faced with "Could not write
value to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explore r\Browser
Helper
Objects\{7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045}"

Could you possibly help me with this please?
