Having just installed live messnger as my old version had to be updated i
find i keep getting the failed to initialize code 0xc0000005 is this a
problem for others ? is there a fix? why change something that was working
fine?

Greetings Mike,

Do you have any Sony software products installed like Sonicstage? Go check Add or Remove
Programs in the Control Panel to confirm as other things may have installed it.

If this is the case, uninstalling it will solve your issue. I haven't heard of this issue in
awhile so I assume Sony has updated their software to be compatible so installing the latest
bits from Sony will probably allow you to maintain using their software.

errrrrrrrr this is a sony computer so i would say yes to that question. does
this mean my sony is not compatible with messenger?

Hi mike,

Yes the preloaded software on Sony Vaio's is generally the problem. Just uninstall it (or
upgrade to a newer version from Sony.com if you need said software) and you'll be fine.
