Hi All,

I'm having problems logging into Messenger. I keep getting the following
messages.

"Your display name could not be changed. Please try again later."

When I click OK I get this message.

"Signing in to Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is
temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. Error Code: 80070190."

I've tried many times and still no luck.

I've check the Service Status and all is well. Also tested my proxy
settings and all is successful.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Adil

If no problems are reported on the status page, you can try removing the
proxy setting and see if WLMessenger can make a direct connection. To remove
the proxy settings, click the "Tools" menu and then "Options..." at your
WLMessenger main window. Then in the options screen click "Connection" in
the list to the left. Next, click the "Advanced Settings..." button. Try
unchecking all the checkboxes except the one labeled "TCP" and see if you
can connect now. (You might have to fully close and start Messenger again
before retrying to connect). If this does not work you can restore the
previous settings by checking the checkboxes again.

Hi,

I tried what you suggested, but it didn't work.

I tried to test the TCP connection and it failed to find the server.

BTW, there are no checkboxes as you mentioned.
