Live Messenger - Multiple Computers - Sign in and Sign Out

Windows Live Messenger Version: 2009 (Build 14.0.8089.726)
Windows 7 x32 and x64 Workstations.
Sign me out of all other places when I sign in to Messenger is : Enabled

Issue:
When messenger is signed into a computer 1 and then we go to computer 2 and
sign into messenger (same account) the following occurs:

1. Computer 1 Messenger will be signed out.
2. Computer 2 Messenger will be signed in.
3. A few seconds later Computer 1 will re-sign in and Computer 2 will sign
out.

2. Is expected behavior.
3. Is a bug we believe.

We believe that Computer 1 does not know that it was signed out BECAUSE of
another logon of Windows Live Messenger for the same account and that sign me
out of all other places is enabled. Computer 1 seems to think that the
connection was lost and therefore re-attempts to connect which it does. This
disconnects the logon from Computer 2.. Computer 2 does NOT re-attempt to
connect so it does seem to know that it was Messenger that logged it off.
This started happening now for a few months.

Is there a reported fix or ???

Greetings George,

This isn't the first time I've heard of this occurring, but there is no real fix as I'm not
entirely sure what to suggest and have never seen it occur in machines I had access to mess
around with.

That said, just a few questions. Are both of these computer's on the same network? Some
network devices (aka routers, but could be enterprise-level networking as well) have added
"Messenger" support to allow various features in Messenger to work. As such, they may be
misinterpreting the MPOP (Multiple Points of Presence) support as a disconnection.

Also, have you tried making new Windows accounts on each machine and trying the account
there? This test basically eliminates the possibility of some sort of problem with contact
list synchronization (or something like that), as all that information is stored within each
individual Windows profile.

I'm experiencing the same problem too

It's on the same network, but problem persist even I use them on
different network.

I'm only using a typical router that most people uses

The problem is only bound to one single windows ID. I tried on another
live ID and no such problems occurs and both PC tells you that you have
been sign in at 2 places.

I also tried deleting the windows contacts folder in appdata/local...
which also didn't solve the problem.

Problem have been resolved

I performed a clean installation on both PC

It seems that one of them had some problems

To perform a clean installation refer to
