live messenger not working on vista

Hi, when i first bought my laptop i had this problem, couldn't sign into
windows live messenger on my vista home edition but i somehow fixed it, i
reformatted my laptop and i have that problem again. I've googled this
problem and tried different things but still no success. I get the error
code:8100030d. I've been trying to fix it for the last 2 weeks and i still
can't get it to work. i've tried reinstalling a dozen times, making sure time
and date is correct, deleted files in user>windows live messenger> my hotmail
addres, and i dont have zone alarm anti virus. Please Help me Thank You.

You might try the Windows Installer cleanup utility; though it might be wise
to get other people's opinion about its sucess with Messenger issues. I used
it yesterday to fix a bad install of Adobe Reader and it fixed my problem
perfectly.

I just bought an HP desktop computer with VISTA but Messenger will not
download... it hangs at 99%. I didn't have a problem downloading to a new
laptop that I had purchased (recently returned the laptop for a desktop).

Any suggestions?

I have a problem signing into the IM and Yahoo messengers today... I get a
message saying the service is temporarily unavailable, but when I check on
the ""Service Status", everything seems ok.

I've tried restoring two times. Don't use Vista, just XP, and don't know
what to do to fix this problem. I'll do anything to avoid reformatting. IM
was working alright last night, and added nothing since.

Anyone have any suggestions that might help?

I REALLY NEED HELP, as I use the IM constantly... am deaf, so really rely on
the IM.
