- Live Messenger won't connect since last night...

Every since last night, without my having installed anything new or modified
anything on my computer, Live Messenger won't connect (the two icons at the
beginning just dance in a circle forever, without ever connecting).

Windows Messenger has no problems connecting.

Is it just me or is this a worldwide problem?

I've having the same problem. I can sign in to Windows Messenger just fine,
but not Live Messenger. The icons just spin and spin, it never times out, it
just never connects.

same here. Other contact seem to have no problem. I can also connect using
Trillion but no luck with messenger live.

Same Problem here too, windows messenger works but live messenger doesn't my
notebook in the same network is able to connect to live messenger tho. but my
standard PC cannot. Very annoying

You know, I have tried just about everything to sign in. The screwy thing is
that I can sign in with one of my computers but not the other and we are on
the same router. What is the darn deal? Does uninstalling 8 and then
reinstalling 7.5 work?

i only tried reinstalling MSN8 latest version but that didnt fix anything.
I'm on the same router too. So i dont know what the problem is so suddenly it
happened because yesterday it worked like a charm

Greetings Resse,

Try the following -- shut down Messenger entirely by right-clicking on its icon in the
notification area and choosing Exit, then download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...grsettings.reg

Then try signing in again.

I seem to be having the same probelms as everyone else - not been able to
connect for about 24 hours now - have tried this registry fix and that didnt
solve the issue - have rebooted my router, reinstalled WLM, tried to connect
on an old machine with MSNM 7.5 and no joy.

I seem to get either a 81000314 or 81000395 code the first time it tries to
connect and then subsequent attempts produce 81000306. If I use the ms
troubleshooting / diagnostic tool then everything comes up correct (with
green ticks).

Have you got any other ideas ?

Yup. I have the exact same problem.
ive tried pretty much all the stuff listed
the windows install cleaner..
the regsver files in dos
the file from this thread.
no luck so far.
