Greetings Anderson,
What version of Windows XP is it that you're trying to install on? Messenger is hardcoded to
at least need Windows XP Service Pack 2 (it can however run on the original of Service Pack 1
by installing components in the a certain order). However, the error message should be
different for that.
As a hunch, you could try a manual install instead. To do so, download and run the
MSI file:

If that installs without an error (it'll just install and disappear if it's successful), then
install the Communications Platform:

Assuming this has worked so far, then you'll need to install two more components, in the same
method as above:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3rc/dw20.asp
and
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3rc/msvcrt.asp
If this all works, you should be able to find Messenger on the start menu. If it doesn't
work, you should get at least some error message. If the latter is the case, what the exact
error message you're seeing now?
