Live Messenger won't Install

I have deleted all copies of old messenger, trying to install the new
verison
of Messenger live(2009). I dowload and run the installer, however it runs
through
the process and says can not install. I am connected to the interenet and
everything else seems to be working, however I can't get Live to install.
