Live One Care - eror

My Live OneCare comes up with an error message to the effect it couldnt
download an update so I get a RED ! ... Checking for Updates is "greyed
out" so I cant click it. VISTA itself is 'up-to-date'. OneCare tells me that
its also updated. But no amount of 'reboots' (from OneCare's online 'help'
pages as a possible 'cure') gets rid of that red !....

any clues please (APART from ditch OneCare!)...

Ditch No Care and get either AVG or Avast, both free. I prefer Avast.

You're not the only one having this problem with No Care so it's safe to
assume that No Care is dorked, not your computer.

Rod if you don't get an answer here, or while waiting, you might want to
post to the One Care forum.

Where you'll find hundreds of others with the same problem and no
solution. Ditch No Care.

I have occasionally seen this OneCare behavior too, but it is intermittent and
will usually correct itself after a few hours. I believe it has something to do
with the availability of Microsoft's servers.
