Hello,

can I get LiveMessenger (8.5), to start Outlook2007 when I check my hotmail?

Greetings,

Sort of. If you use a non-Hotmail.com or MSN.com Windows Live ID address, then it will start
your default mail client (which you can set to Outlook)

If you do use one of these addresses, it will take you to the Live Mail (website or signed in
desktop client) and you can't change that.

Inded it's Hotmail :-)
It's a pity though, Outlook2007 has some sort of integration with Messenger,
live showing the online status of a contact and such...it would be nice to
be able to choose the client application as well

Hi,

Yeah, and unlike previous versions they actually did a good job of it there (with the
presence at least).

In fact there's a lot of integration opportunities for Office and Messenger that are just
ignored pretty much because of the Office Communicator product (which won't work on the
public network).

I did not follow this thread but I am using Outlook connector to access
hotmail and live accounts
