Hi. I am getting the following error with Messenger Live 8.1 whenever
I try to load it.
Windows Live Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
AppName: msnmsgr.exe AppVer: 8.1.178.0 AppStamp:45b12d6a
ModName: f3reprox.dll ModVer: 1.0.1.18 ModStamp:45058929
fDebug: 0 Offset: 000132c0
I have tried deleting my Messenger folder from \ApplicationData
I have uninstalled 8.1 and installed 7.5 - the problem still occurs
I have installed Windows Messenger( that comes with XP) - even this
doesn't work.
I have run Adaware and cleaned out my spyware.
I have done a virus scan with the latest update from McAfee VirusScan.
I have created a new user and the new user cannot load Messenger
either
Any one got any ideas?
Please Help!
David

Greetings,
It's smiley central (which is f3reprox.dll). You may want to remove Smiley Central and/or
run something like the Windows Defender to check for other spyware applications.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. There was a IE add on
installed called 'Webfetti' from the same people that do 'Smiley
Central' Windows Defender and Adaware both ignore it. All I had to do
was uninstall it from 'Add&Remove Programs' and it Messenger started
working again
Thanks again

I'm getting the same error, but do not see smiley central listed in
add/remove programs. Any suggestions?
