Did you try remove their profiles from the file system and make the user
login again? I've always moved the location for "Documents", "Favorites" and
other used subfolders on the profile to a secondary partition so that I can
format the primary partition without thinking abount deleting user data.
And to restore the correct profile I only use the option "Move" on each
profile folder.
