Hi,

I have a windows 2003 app server that is part of my domain. My domain
controller went down and had to rebuild it. I can logon onto the app server
using domain admin account. I need to reset the connection to the domain so
I need to logon as local admin. I do not have the password for the local
admin is there a way to change the password or do I have any options other
than rebuilding the server?

Thanks

You could try the script discussed here.

There are two solutions to your problem:
- The short-term solution: Boot the machine with a Nordahl
boot disk and reset the password for the administrator's
account to a blank.
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html
- The long term solution: Plan ahead. Each and every one of
your machines must have two local admin accounts, with
the passwords locked away. Would you own a car with
just one set of keys? Why not?
