Local Admin installs

I have implemented a WSUS server to push updates to workstation and laptops
on my network. I used group polices to configure how and when updates are
applied to the systems.
Because several users are part of the systems Local Administrators Group
updates don’t automatically install on those machines. The user has to click
on the update icon to download and install the updates.

Is there a way to change the update process so that local administrator does
not have to click on the update icon to download and install updates

You could use SMS if you have it.

Thanks for the reply but I don’t have SMS available to me.

Hi,

With AUOptions set to 4 (automatic download and scheduled
installation), it will install at the time you have set in the
AUOptions policy, regardless if the user is a local admin or not.

And a fyi:

Please post WSUS related issues to the newsgroup dedicated to WSUS:
microsoft.public.windows.server.update_services

WebNews link to the WSUS newsgroup:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...pdate_services

Or use a newsgroup reader (default Outlook Express) to access this new
group:

Clicking on this link should open this group in OE:
