Greetings,
Unlike the previous Messenger site iterations, the latest MSN (Windows Live) implementation
is just to automatically detect what language, locale and operating system you're using and
display the appropriate content. The main site is primary for marketing which is why you
don't see any indication of what version you're downloading, anything technically complicated
or even a link to this newsgroup.
Just using the Microsoft Download Center (
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads) to grab the
specific version and language you want is far easier and less frustrating and gives you at
least basic info about what you're getting.
