You are confusing us because the Subject title says "WLM",
yet you mention only Windows Mail in your problem description.
If you really meant Windows Mail, it would have been better to
post to the Windows Mail newsgroup.
The mail folders you are looking for should be under Local Folders,
which is under the Windows Mail folder you already found.

I recently had a computer crash. I performed a System Restore on my HP Vista
Home Premium Pavilion m7760n, but first elected to backup my files. Since
then I've been able to locate most other files...Downloads, Documents in the
System Recovery Folder, etc. I find User/AppData/Microsoft/Windows Mail,
but I cannot find where in the Windows Mail folder are the Inbox, Sent
Items, etc. from my Pre-Crash days. Any help in locating these files, and
importing them into my new Windows Mail would really be appreciated. TIA.
Jef

Sorry about my confusion, Gary. I meant WLM....I haven't used WM since WLM
came out. I know it's under local folders, but do you have an idea of what
the folder is called? I cannot find one that says "Inbox". Jef

The response I gave previously was for WM. For WLM, my path
is C:\Users\Gary\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\

That folder has subfolders with the names of my accounts.
Opening one of those reveals the typical mail folders (Deleted Items,
Drafts, Inbox, etc.).
The terminology "Local Folders" is apparently not used with WLM.

Try a search for files named *.EML
Each mail message is an EML file. You should find a bunch of them in a
variety of folders.

Thanks, guys, I found them. Thanks to Mike, I did a *.eml search, and they
turned up. Now, I'll be able to restore them to my Inbox. Cheers. Jef

One of the reasons I had problems what that I had not yet selected Show
Hidden Files in Folder Options. I saw them in WinRar first, and wondered why
they weren't showing up in Windows Explorer. After I made the adjustment in
Folder Options, there that had been all that time, Hidden. Thanks again for
all your help. Jef
