Sam,
You have what looks like a BITS problem. To know exactly, you need to go to
c:\windows or c:\winnt (whichever is your flavor of your operating system)
and locate a file called windowsupdate.log. Scroll down to the very end of
the file and copy the last 20 or so lines of the file and post back to this
group. That way we can see what is happening when you hit the Update site
and windows update hangs. By the way, BITS is a service that runs in the
background to download the files. There are alot of fixes in this newsgroup
to fix BITS problems, you just have to type in BITS in the search category
and then follow the directions the guys/gals have given.
