Hello everybody! I am new here and I already have a problem:

Yesterday I removed my ATI Radeon X800Pro card because it cause
graphics issues. I rebooted the computer and it automatically switche
to the nvidia GeForce 6100 GPU onboard graphics. It had a fairly update
Windows driver installed for it. I went to nvidia to download the newes
driver. During the installation of that driver, the screen went blank.
waited 5 minutes and nothing happened. I restarted my pc and now i
doesn't show the Vista log-in screen anymore. All I get is that littl
green bar on the bottom and then the screen turns black. All I can se
is a tiny little green strip (of the log-in page) on the top of m
screen. How can I fix that? I still got XP, which I am using right now
I tried to boot Vista in Safe mode but it got stuck while it was loadin
the drivers...

thank you for every tip!

My system:

AMD Athlon 64 3700
1 gig ram
Vista Home Premium 32bit
XP Media Center Edt

Hey crazygerman

I would like to add that you have to wait a comparatively longer tim
than your normal windows start-up when booting into safe mode

If you're rebooting ur pc in just 2 minutes while entering safe mode,
suggest you wait a while. If you absolutely can not get to safe mode
post back here and we'll help you out further

When you do get into safe mode follow *'*Brian the King*

I waited approx. 10 minutes and it didn't enter the safe mode. It wa
still showing the 'DOS' screen where it shows what is being loaded.

@Brian the king: The driver I tried to install when everything happene
was from the official nvidia websit

Crazygerman has clearly specified that loading Vista in the safe mode halts
at the stage of loading drivers.........so there is no question of getting
to the desktop.

Be patient. I've had longer waits.

Walk away from your computer. Go shopping. Whatever.

In pure safe mode, very few drivers are loaded - by definition of safe mode.

If this card is not completely dead, toss it back in and remove you
nvidia drivers. Then try again, with different drivers [from your mob
manufacturer if possible]. Or if your resolution/refresh rate i
supported without 6100 drivers installed, do without them
