logging on problem

I have just installed the latest version of messenger onto my vista system.
It installed alright, but I can not login.

When I try to login into messenger I get an error 80072745?

I wondered what could be causing this and how I could sort it out?

Any help would be gratefully accepted.

FYI: windows vista ultimate
NIS 2007 (tried to connect with it switched off= no joy)
Broadband connection = Netgear wireless roughter

No joy.

So at the moment I am going to have to log into the web messenger.
