Hi

I've Windows XP Home edittion installed on my laptop. Initially I'd
Windows Live Messenger 8.1 installed. The Problem I faced with it, was it
usually used to take 25-30 mins to actually log me in!! later I uninstalled
it and installed WLM 8.5 Beta, the problem still persists. Its taking more
than 25-30 mins to actually get my contact list and log me in.

any help and suggestions in this regard will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi LiCodeX,

I have not had any problems logging in, whatsoever.

I have only 15 contacts in my Contact List. How many contacts in your
list?

Hi "thecreator"

as per you querry, I've some 20 odd contacts in my list. But
does that have any sort of effect on one's logging in timings? doesn't make
sense to me.
I don't remember exactly from when it had started acting weird
like this for me, while logging into through WLM, but certaining its quite
irritating, 'coz you can't wait for 25-30 mins to actually get yourself
logged in and discuss something important with your buddies over WLM!

Thanks

Hi LiCodeX,

How much computer memory is available? What is your CPU Processor speed?
What operating system and version are you using?

Are you using a Router? Are you wireless or Wired? When is the last time
you reset your Router to Factory Specs? Make sure the Date and Time are set
on the Router, if you are using one.

Hi "thecreator"

I've Acer Aspire 5571 laptop, whereon Windows XP Home Edition SP2
(2600) is installed. I've Intel Dual Core 1.6GHz processor which utilizes 1GB
of RAM as physical memory( I guess that is a pretty high end combination for
a computer to run any appliactions smoothly, isn't it?)
well, I've both wireless and Wired fascilities available, the details of
their repsective resets and all, are unknown to me. But there has been no
problems with anything other than MSN messenger with this network, as such.
and to just let you know, the typical Windows messenger that comes with
the Windows OS, doesn't creep while logging me in, it works in jiffies!..so
whats the matter with WLM then?

@ Thanks
