Using the latest Messenger, I can login using my mail hotmail account with
no error. However if I attempt to sign in with either one of the 2 linked
live.ca accounts, I receive an error "a' is null or not an object. Clicking
on more generates an execution address exception at 00413E6C from Visual
Studio Debugger. However I can continue to use Messenger with no problems. I
am using Messenger on Vista Ultimate.

Greetings,

I'm not entirely clear when this is coming up -- is it signing into Messenger or signing into
Hotmail from Messenger? Normally what you're describing is coming from Messenger's
advertising window or Live Today, which is just a hosted IE control and usually can be dealt
with by just clearing out IE's cache and cookies.

Signing into Messenger. I will not clear all cookies as I will lose too
much but I will delete specific ones.
There are three Live IDs used. One is an Hotmail one and the other two are
live.ca ones. Only the live.ca IDs cause a problem.

My temporary work-around was to ignore the errors.

A better work-around I am now using is to enable the non-checking of scripts
option for programs other than IE. This option is one of the ones in IE7
advanced options tab.

Turning off the option of Windows Live Today eliminated the problem.

Thank you.
