After plugging the device into the USB port (I have tried all of them),
Windows starts to recognize the device but is looking for the driver. After
pointing to the CD and the MS site, I am receiving the following message:

"An error occurred during the installation of the device:

The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry.
This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact
your hardware vendor."

I contacted Logitech (tried what I suspect is an earlier version of the SW)
and they referred me to MS. This happens no matter if the driver is from the
CD or the MS site. The update from windows update for this device will not
install ether.

First delete all the temporary files including the location where you tried
to install the software. Next visit :-

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/43...l=us,en?osid=1

Download the 32 bit files and install the same.

Hope it helps.

Only minimal help, but I can confirm that it installs and works with MCE
2005. Mine (installed about 8 months ago) worked out of the box following
the included instructions. Found it also works with Vista x86 & x64 and
with Windows 7 x86.

Open Device Manager and uninstall the Logitech 9000 completely and restart
the system. After the restart attach the webcam device and let the OS search
for the required driver. This time if it can't then specify the exact
location where the driver is present.

I have done that with the same results. Also, I have tried using the driver
from Logitech AND Microsoft. As per my original post, I cannot install the
Logitech webcam pro 900 update from the windows update site.
