Cant find a Logitech newsgroup so I thought I would try here. I am having
problems with my MX600 laser mouse and would like to be able to clean the
internal contacts. Does anyone know how to get it apart. I have read that
there are no screws under the teflon pads so does it just prise apart or
break if you try.

There are probably no contacts you can clean. Microswitches
are normally used for the buttons. I have an MX600, and it
feels like there are holes under the pads, but I don't know if
there are screws. Once a microswitch becomes intermittent,
or develops contact bounce, it has to be replaced. I have
replaced a mouse microswitch with a similar one from a
broken mouse.

I have had 4 Logitech mice, over the past 3 years, that have had button
failure. Within 6-9 months all of the started having problems with the left
button. I was getting double clicks instead of single clicks. I opened up
one MX1000 to find sealed switches - couldn't be cleaned.

I finally got ****ed at Logitech and switched to a Microsoft mouse. End of
problems.
