logitech webcams and SP1

Still trying to pinpoint what exactly stopped my SP1 installation and
caused it to fail.

one of the listed causes that SP1 may not take is:

computers together with the Logitech QuickCam that uses the Lvuvc.sys
device drivers (all versions). Microsoft has detected a flaw in the
Windows Vista Ks.sys file that can cause a critical stop during
Windows Vista SP1 installation if this device driver file is
installed. An update to Ks.sys is being created that resolves this
issue."

I have a logitech webcam, but i don't find this driver on my system,
at least not by doing a start/search for it.

I also have a CL audigy SE sound card, but the 2 drivers listed as
problematic, don't show up in a start/search.
Someone else mentioned that they have an Audigy Card and had no
problems installing....

has anyone had a problem with SP1 because of a logitech webcam?
has anyone installed SP1 WITH a logitech webcam?

My Logitech cam & software (Ultra Vision) works just fine with SP1.

The driver Device Manager is showing is usbccgp.sys provided by
Microsoft.

If I recall (dont' quote me) this was an optional update for my
Logitech Cam I installed prior to testing SP1 RC a month or two ago.

If you feel the cam is the culprit just uninstall the cam driver. Then
try to install SP1 again. Once SP1 is installed just plug your cam in
and let Windows find a driver or try and install the latest driver from
Logitech.

hmm, i checked the WU and there were no options for driver updates....
likewise this file doesn't show up in the device manager, but it is on
the system.
is it possible that the file is there as part of a driver package that
might install on other cameras... but not mine? So that it is not
really being used, but just sitting in a folder? maybe i should ask
this over at logitech......

what I DON'T want to do is uninstall the webcam, get SP1 working and
then lose the funcionality of the camera, since I use it on a daily
basis. I'd rather wait for drivers to clear than risk losing the
webcam.

There may be other issues as well since my sound card has an offending
driver and i seriously doubt Creative is going to do anything soon to
fix it.

so there may be more than just the logitech right now

i've asked over on the logitech forum about the lvuvc.sys... which was
on my system but not actually being used as a driver for my particular
webcam. this driver is supposed to be for UVC compliant cameras, which
the STX is apparently not.
so the STX is probably not the hardware that is causing my system to
NOT install SP1.

I installed SP1 yesterday without any problems.
I have a Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 and the Lvuvc.sys driver is listed for
it in Device Manager.
The driver is located in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers .
The webcam works fine.
