Logon screen has my picture twice

Hello,

I have put the following post to the microsoft.public.windows.vista.security
group but I received a reply indicating to post it in this group, stating
that it might be possible due to some problem with the KB938979 update,
which I have already downloaded and installed. Any help will be appreciated.

Here it is:

I have a lenovo 3000 N100 laptop with Vista Home Basic preinstalled. I don't
know what happened, but when the logon screen appears it shows my user icon
twice. There is only one user account.

Furthermore, if I create another user, the icon of that user then also
appears twice, thus having a total of 4 user icons on the logon screen. This
repeats for any additional user....

Any idea on what is going on?
