Hello
I have a Briefcase which I created under XP. IT is stored on my portable
HDD.
When I work on this briefcase using an XP system there's no problem.
However if I try to access any document in the briefcase using a Vista
system then it takes an extremely long time to open. Even to browse the
documents in the birfcase or to open a 16k txt document.. it takes a very
long time.
Because of my work I must carry always several GB of data between several
PCs so I have to use this briefcase.
I've tried in lots of PCs and always same result.
I think this has something to do with Vista access permissions.

I tried other utilities like SyncToy but still found Briefcase much more
suitable for the kind of work I do.

Any ideas?
Regards
e.

Have a look to see what hidden and system files are in it, and compare them
to a Briefcase made in Vista. You might find out what causes it with a bit
of investigating.

I don't know if it's better or worse, but I created a new briefcase
under Vista (also a few GB) and there's about a minute delay to get into
it... so I doubt that Vista vs. XP system files are the issue.

By using the folder tree in the left hand explorer pane I can see some
of the files listed before this delay is incurred, but there is always
at least one significant wait before I can actually open anything.

Furthermore, the status of connection with the hard disk I'm syncing
with seems to make no difference.
