Try complete sentences and full descriptions. It helps speed along the
process of getting accurate assistance.
You should keep a *windows update* until it gets replaced automatically by
another update (if that ever happens.)
As for a *java* update - I will assume you mean "Java Runtime Environment
(JRE)" and that you have the release "update 11". If you have any other
versions (update, etc) installed of Java - chances are (if you are a home
user) you only need the latest. That would be JRE update 12 at this point.
You should remobve all others from your add/remove programs list and get
just update 12. From that point on - supposedly - java will not be leaving
behind the multiple versions you may now be seeing. If you are a business
user and you have multiple versions (not just "update" differences - perhaps
you have JRE 5.0 or 1.4.2, etc...) - you may need an older version as well
as the newer version in order to support some specific application/web
application you utilize.
