How long does SP2 take to download generally?

Hi,
I was just wondering, on a ADSL connection, how long does it take for the
automatic update to download and install Service Pack 2? I have made sure
that auto update is turned on several times, and have been on the internet
for about an hour on and off. How much longer do you think it will take? Is
there any signs I should look for to make sure it is downloading at all? (I
must admit I am a bit of a novice when it comes to these matters)

Thanks,
-Jim Trenowden.

I used DU Meter to measure the DL.

I just downloaded that monster. All 274 MB of it. It took my 1mb
cable modem 38:39.1 minutes to download at a avg DL rate of 993.1
kbps.

I think the automatic update size is smaller (60mb?) The manual download is
260'ish mb.
you'll know if it's downloading by the update icon in your system tray. If
you have clicked on download but the icon hasn't appeared then don't panic,
the reason for this is explained in other posts in this forum.

I highly encourage you use the Automatic Updates download. With the Automatic
Update the download should be much smaller then the manual download (around
100Mb rather then 260Mb) depending on the files you already have on your
machine.
