Some of you reading might have complained about the wait for Vista. I didn't
mind it. Back when XP was released I had started to suffer 'upgrade fatigue'
anyway and was sort of tired of new versions of Windows:

win95 then 98 then 98se then millennium same year as 2000 shortly thereafter
XP then I settled on 2003

That's seven operating systems in eight years not including service packs. I
was starting to hope Microsoft would stop for a while.

And I was sort of tired of upgrading too. Millennium ed. was about the
worst. There was no real reason for it to exist - even though it was a good
OS properly install - yet there was Microsoft churning it out as if it were
a paradigm shifting upgrade (similar as it was to the preferred Win98se).

Anyway ..

So here's to the Vista delay - I enjoyed it.

And congratulations to the Microsoft team on Vista's RTM - I'm sure it will
both help the world to compute and will bring in lots of money for you.

Again, thanks for the delay,
God Bless and Congratulations,
Saucy

Company officials have confirmed that five year gaps between major releases
will be a thing of the past. We should take into account though, Microsoft
"did" release a new version of Windows every year albeit 'XP' since 2001.

XP Home and Pro - 2001
XP MCE and Tablet - 2002
XP MCE 2004 - 2003
XP SP2 - 2004
XP MCE and Tablet 2005 - 2004
XP Pro x64 - 2005

and lets not forget the Server releases Server 2003 (2003), Server 2003 R2
(2005)

Comparing feature set of some of these SKUs to Windows 98 and ME, they would
look really superior.
