Looking for copy of XP Service Pack 1

I cannot install a need patch for my Sony Desktop because it says I don't
have service pack 1 installed. I installed the patch for service pack 1 and
I have installed service pack 2. The filename is MI-Z32280803CS04US.EXE and
the version is QFE or Q833228. Would obtaining a copy of windows XP Service
Pack 1 help me in this situation? I usually connect at 26.4Kbps.

Hi

Note that 833228 is included in Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows XP,
so if you have installed SP2, you don't need 833228.

To obtain WinXP SP1:

You will find Service Pack 1 for WinXP under Network Installation here
(a 134 MB download, same file for Pro and Home):
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...1/default.mspx

I suggest you download this file on a computer with a fast internet
connection, and burn it to a CD or pit it on a USB stick.

Alternatively, go for WinXP SP2:

I cannot find the version number in SP2 and the site you directed me to is
for SP1a. So, it is possible that I will need the original SP1 in order to
install my much needed patch or fix. Thank you for your response and any
