The loop ... KB941649

I have Vista home premium up to date and it has begun to occasionally crash.
There is no pattern to this or a specific program open at the time, then,
upon restart it takes me to a 'solution of the issue' which is KB941649. I
validate, download and start the installation process only to get a message
that 'this patch does not apply to my system'
Has anyone else experience this and is there a solution?
Thanks in advance

There are two files on that page. One for x86 (32-bit) and one for x64
(64-bit).

You can find out which you have by having a look at:

It may be installed and not the answer for your problem.

Thanks, I will take a look again but last time I checked (after repeated
attempts to install it) it was not there.

My Control Panel doesn't have it under recent tasks, but it does have it my
way.. It's one of the blue items under Windows Update once you get to
System and Maintenance.

There is another post from a guy with the same problem but a different
update. It is entitle Half Life 2 - Windows Vista patches and the poster was
VeryOldGoat. Maybe there is an answer for you in that chain?
