Loses Wireless Connection when Laptop Lid is Closed

Hi...

I have a Gateway laptop with Vista Home Premium.

I have no trouble finding and connecting to my
wireless router (DSL).

However, whenever I close the lid, when I re-open
it (and have to give my password to get back in to
Vista) the connection is lost.

This only happens when the lip is closed -- if I
leave the computer for a long time and the
screensaver is running, it returns to normal fine.

Any ideas?

TIA

Go in Control Panel | Power options and disable Sleep Mode when you close
the laptop cover.

Some of us have a need to close our laptops without killing any active
connections.

A quick move from one end of the office to the other will risk the
laptop's health far less if you close it then try to carry it open, for
example.
