Start a Command Prompt, and type:
IPCONFIG
Your "Default Gateway" is the IP of the modem. When it fails, use the prompt
to run the command:
ping 192.168.0.1 (or whatever your default gateway happens to be)
Usually, if you go to that site with IE (e. g.
http://192.168.0.1) you may
get a report on the modems connectivity at the moment.
