I'm assuming Windows XP SP3 - perhaps your problem is related to your
graphics card driver. Check for updates for your Graphic's card.

If this is not in your area of skill, take it to a reputable dealer to have
them check the computer and make sure it's SP3 ready etc.

This is interesting. We had 3 computers where the most recent XP update
froze the computer on restart. We get to the XP screen and then it goes
black. When switching to safe mode and watching the boot log it freezes at
apgcpq.sys

The three people reported their monitors as dead, becase the screen was
black. I am now trying to determine the best fix for this issue.

Ahhh...Let me guess Agp440.sys is the next device loading after the
agpCPQ.sys file. I will give this a shot back at work in the morning and
keep you posted.

Thanks.
