Losing Restore Points

I run Vista 64bit SP1 with all the latest updates and I am losing
restore points. If I check for restore points it tells me there are
none and even if I manually create a restore point it is gone if I
want to restore. I do have plenty of space on the hard drives and I
have searched to see if there is an option somewhere that I need to
set.

It is a nice feature when testing new programs or drivers and I would
like to get it back. Ahyone know what is going on here?

If you dual-boot, you will lose your Vista restore points. I used to lose
my WinXP restore points as well, but SP-3 seemed to fix that for XP.

Thanks but that concerns users that are short on hard drive space - my
drive c: has 76 free GB.

Microsoft recommends this resolution to the problem when dual booting XP and
Vista. It is straitforward and quite safe:

It will work for the Vista 64 bit version. It changes the settings i
XP so that they do not erase your Restore Points in Vista. It is what i
recommended by Microsoft

everybody talks about dual boot in vista
is there a dual boot build in,
in a Factory installed Vista computer?
With XP some where in there?
